About Francesco Faes


Francesco Faes (1965), born in Heinkenszand, the Netherlands, got his first camera at the age of twelve. He made his first photo shoot when he was a student at the Business School in Vlissingen during a visit to Paris. He was the first Dutchman who married in the city of Lviv in the former Soviet Union, now belonging to the Republic of Ukraine. Concerning one of his great passions – photography, he is a real autodidact.

For him, photography is capturing the subtlety of a moment and in this way creating a kind of beauty. Since 2004 Francesco Faes has had a number of exhibitions. In 2012, a picture of his has been nominated at the photo competition organized by the CCMI (Consultative Commission on Industrial change) and Eurocoal (European Association for Coal and Lignite) and was exhibited in the Jacques Delors Building at the European Economic and Social Committee of the European Union. He has received assignments from amongst others IBJ (International Bulk Journal), Scheldekringen, Zeeland Business and Restaurant Jan.
